These vases were made for the centerpieces for our wedding, as an homage to a series of vases that Kiefer and I made during our time in undergrad. The series was very special to us and was the first pieces that we collaborated on together. All pieces were thrown and designed by me. During different parts of the process I had help from my grandma, mom, dad and sister, such as painting the flowers on the Blooming vases and the final step for glazing and sanding. It was very special to me that my whole family pitched in many hours to make this possible.

Materials:

Wheel thrown budvases in porcelain, hand painted and carved with a custom, dusty blue underglaze color that took time to perfect for our special day. Midfire glazed with white. Flowers are not glazed to highlight the details of the carved petals. Flowers are randomly placed on the entire surface of the vase.
