Made earlier this year, I wanted to experiment with relief carving while combining my favorite techniques of sgraffito while paying homage to my Chinese heritage. The stripe pattern is inspired by horizontal patterns that usually are bands on Ming dynasty pots. The plum blossoms were carved and then glazed in pink celadon, while the turquoise stripes are not glazed to highlight the sgraffito carving. Everywhere else, the mug is glazed white
